FEIT PROGRAM MANAGER DOE TECHNICAL STANDARDS PROGRAM OFFICE OF QUALITY ASSURANCE AND NUCLEAR SAFETY MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS FROM: ANDREW DE LA PAZ ACTING DIRECTOR OFFICE OF NUCLEAR SAFETY OFFICE OF ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH, SAFETY AND SECURITY SUBJECT: Change Notice to Department of Energy Handbook, DOE-HDBK- 1169-2022, Handbook for Use with DOE-STD-1269-2022, “Air Cleaning Systems in DOE Nuclear Facilities” This memorandum forwards “Change Notice Number 1” (CN1) for DOE Handbook, DOE- HDBK-1169-2022, in accordance with DOE Technical Standards Program Procedure No. 7, “Maintenance of DOE Technical Standards” (DOE-TSPP-7, September 2013) Section 4.2. This CN1 addresses numerical errors within Table 3.3 of Section 3.5 on Hazard Classification of Radioisotopes that appear in the text on page 11. Within Table 3.3, the numerical values under the column on DAC, Air (µCi/ml) were incorrect and replaced with the original values found in the 2003 version of the same table as shown below. However, the only change is the value for Hazard Class 4 which is changed from “10^-6” to “>10^-6”.
